We try to move fast around here, and so we’re already announcing the dates for next year. The 2013 Dam Short Film Festival will take place February 6th through February 9th, 2013, in historic Boulder City, Nevada. The dates for submissions will be announced soon.

The Dam Short Film Festival is sponsoring two contests for the 2012 Fest. Win a Lifetime Pass and other prizes if you can watch all 108 films! Or, share your photos for a chance at a 2013 season all-access pass.

Each year, we give out eight custom, hand-made awards for the winners of our eight awards categories (Audience Favorite, Best Drama, Best Comedy, Best Student, Best Documentary, Best Animation, Best Sci-Fi/Horror, and Best Nevada Filmmaker). 2012 is no exception. Here’s a sneak peek at some freshly cast awards. After the ceramic casts dry, they’ll be cleaned-up, detailed, fired, glazed with a bronze finish, and mounted to bases.

DSFF doesn’t use guest jurists. The awards are driven by audience votes. That’s right, each audience member has a chance to vote for their favorite film in each program they attend.

Well – it’s finally here! The 2012 Schedule! 108 different films, plus the additional screening of the award winners gives up a grand total of 116 films.
